Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for her role as the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. Her credits are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney, the only daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by her four brothers and sisters. Although she was a child with a dream of becoming journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that she began modeling. When she moved away from New York City and gaining an experience working as a commercial model and commercials in New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first appearance as an actor came as an innocent teenager in the soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many films television movies and dramas. While she has a successful professional life, Delaney's personal life is not content and successful. There were two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcohol addiction. The year 2005 was the time she was denied custody of the sole child she had.
