Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she gained her first notoriety. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 when she released Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. J.
