Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she gained her first notoriety. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 when she released Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her perform on Rihanna reference. The news was released on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer on behalf of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks by EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. She then released on November 13 two new singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured along with Cole in The Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video debuted on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within a week, it had over 3 million views. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
